The official tariff for private generator subscriptions on September 2026 bills is 48,241 LBP per kWh — about $0.54, and the highest level since April. In remote or sparsely populated areas the official rate is 10% higher. In June 2026 the official rate was 41,973 LBP per kWh, about $0.47.
In practice, many subscribers pay more than the official rate. In some urban areas and towns, generator subscriptions charge up to $0.90 per kWh.
What it means for your business: every kWh your site takes from a generator — your own or a neighbourhood subscription — moves with the price of diesel. When diesel rises, so does your bill, and you have no control over it.
A hybrid system changes that. Solar panels carry your daytime load, batteries store the surplus for the evening, and the generator you already have becomes the backup instead of the main source. It runs fewer hours, burns less diesel and needs less maintenance.
We publish the official tariff here every month. Want to know what it means for your own site? Book a free site assessment, or message us on WhatsApp at +961 71 790 860.
